For it to catch on you need to post on it. I'd like to contribute, but I don't play tabletop due to no friends in the immediate vicinity and CRPGs belong on vidya boards.
Same applies to other boards. But there's also the thing that there are too few people to fill muh PPH requirements for a board to not be dead and once a board drops below that magical limit anons who grew up in modern day sanic Internet become afraid and drop out.

Let's hear about those character concepts, /tg/. What makes your character tick?

I'm running a roaming mercenary searching for powerful warriors to defeat in the name of gaining power.

He's devoted himself to his quest to the point that he knows precious little more than fighting. He's joined up with the party after losing a duel with the the resident Sword and Board Fighter, and now seeks to build up his strength and rechallenge him.

Until then, he's content to face down the party's foes with a smile on his face. Between adventures, he has trouble settling down, and spends his time sparring with the local guard, seeking out rumors of local strong warriors, or failing either of those, nursing his wounds.

While this is a long shot because board game generals on cripple and even cuckchan struggled for an audience: what are you elegan/tg/entlemen playing at the moment?

I gave Machi Koro and it's harbour expansion their first go round the other day, and I think I liked it. It seems like the kind of game you need to get a few dozen rounds in to learn what combos off of what.

But I did enjoy the Harbor ruleset that sees different cards being drawn when an old one is taken: it prevents you from plotting too far ahead, and challenges you to do the best with what you've got on hand.

However, I only played a duel, and there were a hell of a lot of dead turns. Does that level out a bit with more players, I wonder?

Played it again and it turns out you definitely only need a few rounds to suss out where the combos are. And three player games increase the amount of dickery, so I'd definitely recommend playing with more than two.
