Thank you for this thread, OP.

Not cuckchan nor Infinity have produced a single resource comparable to the links provided by you.

It'd never be able to. Last experience I had on 8ch was a group of people trying to find me, and failing even though I gave clues. 8ch has died, and along with it rises a new land.

Anonymous 07/09/2017 (Sun) 20:23:28 [Preview] No. 9094 del
Now that 8ch is effectively kill I am planning to do some of these wargames. New Year's resolution is to git gud.

I started with http://overthewire.org/wargames/ and have to admit that it was a lot of fun, I've gotten better with the command line as a result.

Best one to start out on? I really want to learn infosec but have little to none programming experience, but do use Linux as my everyday OS. I actually want to get a job as a junior sysadmin or junior infosec analyst or something along those lines.

do the over the wire wargame, first one in that column. There are solutions on other sites if you get stumped. Its good for learning the terminal.

Godly resource of thousands of PDFs

Decent videos if you wanna get some certs

Good for hardware hacking, electronics, and other related shit. Also, their T-shirts at the store look godly.

Two pdfs for the MTA Networking and MTA Operating System.

I got this from my IT class. I'm hoping to get our Teacher to post the security textbook so I can post it here.

since this is like, our hacking general, does anyone have any experience with .onion hacking forums like GroundZero or HELL? are they just honeypots?

Anonymous 07/09/2017 (Sun) 20:29:30 [Preview] No. 9126 del
Some of them are legit. some exist to troll users, and some are honeypots.

If I were you, I would be wary if I came across a website claiming to be a hacking forum on the deepweb. Try to learn about it's users and don't integrate unless you are certain that it is secure and you are working with real people.

Cybrary is actually pretty good when it comes to networking. Many of the courses just teach you what networking is and then adds a bit of focus on security at the end.

Anonymous 05/22/2018 (Tue) 15:19:41 [Preview] No.12741 del
>Cybrary is actually pretty good

There are not enough women in cyber - That's not OK! We need to know why, and we need to fix it. Cybrary is tackling this issue head on to find a solution to this deteriorating problem. As such, I would like to request no more than 10-minutes of your time to respond to this very important survey. I personally assure everyone that all responses are confidential and anonymous!

Thank you for helping Cybrary raise awareness, and feel free to invite other women to participate in our study, share #cybergendergap.

It's horse shit. You should only be learning trough books, anyway.

There is a lot of resources everywhere about hacking, but a lot of them are either old, or simply bad quality.

What would you advice to read? There is "Hacking: the art of exploitation", but I don't know, it seems too vague. I really would like something more network oriented.

Is it work to go through the phrack zines?

Anonymous 06/11/2018 (Mon) 22:24:23 [Preview] No.12788 del
Samefag here. What do you think about ccna security exam? I downloaded the whole resources associated. Is it a good path?

I'm new and have no idea how to bump a thread (yes, I do. Close ur piehole Rob), so I'll just touch myself whilst checking the resources posted. Gracias, you delicious heathens.

Anonymous 07/12/2018 (Thu) 02:24:05 [Preview] No.12828 del
idk how you fools struggle so hard, there is an industry defined path
>learn basic overall computer shit (A+)
>learn networking (network+)
>learn security (security+)

from there you can find your niche and specialize where'd you like. you don't even have to get the certs just have the knowledge (unless you want to get a job of course).
