if caffeine and alcohol and sleep deprivation counts, then yes

And now I'm drinking this. If it still counts without animay then literally what's in the OP.

That explains a lot actually.
They can enjoy emotions via the overemphasized gesticulation and facial expressions as they can't recognize it on real people.

It's like spoon-feeding information to people. Only some captions are needed (similar to deaf people).
>she is afraid of dogs
>the cat is afraid of dogs
>the dogs seem to be playful
>they are hurt by the dogs
etc etc

Watching anime certainly is a sin.

>>16589
On the other hand Akira - what I saw some years back - for example is nothing like you posted.

Btw. Started Downton Abbey. Quite amusing. Laffed my ass off when that cocktease fucked that Turkish ambassador or whoever then the dude died in her bed. Shit was funny.

I loved Downton very much. The overall series ending I had a slight issue with but it wasn't like it ruined the entire series retroactively.

It has it's moments. For me it's a less comical version of You rang m'lord.

I wouldn't watch it now as you're just starting, but some linguist fan of the show went through and found various anchronistic phrases used throughout the show's run, the only one I remember was, "I'm just saying..."

The brits went absolutely ape shit for it though from what I understood. It's a unique setting for a show. Right before WW1, the constant juxtaposition of the Nobility, middle class, and serving class; having a host of servants, a couple, being one.
All with the dramatic irony of knowing all of that is about to get turned on its head and the absolute decadence of the next almost exactly 100 years.

Bernd 05/24/2018 (Thu) 16:59:29 [Preview] No.16637 del
>>16634
Those anachronistic phrases sure have their place in that setting and even those can come in handy so might worth to pick them up. Hungarian has some such (like passive voice) and still can be placed them into everyday speech for various reasons (for example they sound funny).

I will recommend this show to people.

Bernd 05/24/2018 (Thu) 17:00:17 [Preview] No.16638 del

I mean not solely for the phrases but for the setting and the political atmosphere as well.

I would honestly love to see more shows like it across various European cultures of similar time periods. I'm sure there are similar stories to be told but I feel like the antiquated nature of people like the Dowager Countess and Lord Grantham are still an odd point of pride for British culture despite the political correctness of today and similar figures in dramas make the world seem more relatable and prevent the modern audience from falling into present-ism as much.

And I just heard about this show. It's on netflix currently but is a few years old Spanish television show set during the Spanish Civil War, definitely going to check it out.

That's the same with most historical figures here actually. Winston Churchill for example is considered a national hero even though he was rayciss as fuck.

What is the BBC on? And can't they send someone from BBC Scotland to Glasgow instead of making us listen to this English "accent"?

Many people have actually been rejected by the BBC for having regional accents:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/5689314/james-martin-slams-bbc-and-claims-they-didnt-give-him-two-jobs-because-of-his-yorkshire-accent/
>JAMES Martin has claimed he was turned down by the BBC for two presenting jobs because of his Yorkshire accent.
>Speaking to The Daily Mail, James claimed: “I didn’t get two jobs from the BBC because of my accent.
>It happened more than two years ago. I know because they told me [it was because of my accent].”

Started reading a manga called Innocent about the French executioner Charles-Henri Sanson.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Sanson

Shit is pretty brutal. I like seeing these Japanese interpretations of Western history even though it's veracity is highly suspect they do seem to put some serious effort into researching some of the technical stuff regarding the executions.

Poor Earl of Grantham and the dowager. They can barely keep pace with all the changes in Great Britain and the world. And they don't know about The Troubles or the Sex Pistols. Or the Spice Girls, wankaholics and nigress duchess/princess.

I don't think it counts as quite a spoiler but I'll spoiler it anyway, at one point Lord Grantham says something like I'm not sure about this Hitler fellow but he seems to have everyone riled up!

The dramatic irony in a show like that is pretty good.
