"The Christian god can easily be pictured as virtually the same god as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites."

A paraphrase of Thomas Jefferson's writing

Arguable.
Compare 1 Chronicles 21:1 and 2 Samuel 24:1

Jesus would've used something more like Esuna. I don't think he ever healed someone in the bible of a physical wound, but cured them of basically status effects, like death an leprosy.

Again the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, “Go and take a census of Israel and Judah.

Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel. 2 So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops, “Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”

The word used for leprosy in the bible also covered a range of skin diseases. Some of which probably could spontaneously go away like how your rashes can just go away.

I wish prostitution was still held as sacred. Christianity ruined it and made it illegal everywhere.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_prostitution

This picture is about 120 years old from a prison district outside of Tokyo. Don't they look refined? And sex is a human desire like hunger, you need it and depressing it is unhealthy and makes you unwell as you see with religious freaks who pretend they don't look away pornography. (Which is shibai.)

Im getting older and I am under no illusions that soon I won't be able to tap any twenty year old ass. Preventing people from enjoying bodies when they're young and letting people join group orgies is a real sin.

Forcing every woman to whore herself in the temple of Aphrodite at least once in her lifetime and keeping them prison in the temple until they whore themselves was such a great idea. Damn you christians.
Totally agree about the orgies too. I mean where are we supposed to get the infants to smoulder alive on the red hot arms of an idol of Baal while their horrid screams get drowned in trance inducing instruments so that no one has to worry about their conscience crying out of their very souls?

Remember, Greek religion liked sex and they were pro dick. They never made a tradition of circumcising all babies for no reason.

Greek religion was also very pro rending animals and people alive in a ritualistic frenzy (sparagmos). Why did christians keep the empowering bountifulness of Hellenistic paganism away from people with their backwards ideologies? I have no idea.

So Greek religion had its dark side, like any religion. But Judaism was objectively worse and more anti-free thought. You cannot name Jewish philosophers who shook the world the way the Greeks did.

Man, this is really messed up. I love the Greeks and their culture, but this is just awful.

>So Greek religion had its dark side
Before Christianity, there wasn't a single country in Europe that didn't practice human sacrifices. There was a lot of screwed up stuff going on in Europe before Christianity that I don't even want to mention in this thread.

But just an FYI, Christianity was extremely popular with the Greeks (same as with the Egyptians, where it spread like literal wildfire. Which is funny because they had older religious beliefs before the Greeks).

>They never made a tradition of circumcising all babies for no reason
Egyptians did it before the Israelis did. Muslims do it to this day. I don't like but, 'eh whatever.

It was "popular" in part because it was forced on people just like Islam. Radical Christian's destroyed Greek temples, altars and statues while the Pro Christian Roman empire turned a blind eye and encouraged looting pagan temples gir gold to build Christian churches. Heretics and pagans were increasingly opressed, beat up, silenced and nursed.

Read "The Darkening Age" by Catherine Nixel for a full reckoning of this truth that pro-Christianity society has effectively censored. It doesn't even talk about how the Spanish forced people to convert or die, in Spain and in their colonies. You really think Indians would have converted without violence? Ha!

What timeframe are you talking about?
I'm asking before everything after Constantine (you know something tells me he didn't really bother to understand the simple truth of the Gospel properly) and marriage of church and state becomes kind of an issue.
In short esoteric cults of the elite of Roman Empire (e.g. mithraism) adopted exoteric font of Christianity and kept going. Say we look deeper at that whole burning at the stake thing. Burning alive is how fire philosophers, Zoroastrian Magi, disposed of their enemies. It's the little things.
