What is Touhou?
Touhou is a series of vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up games from Japan. They're all made by a single guy named ZUN. It began all the way back in 1995 and has since given rise to a massive fanbase that produces an extremely large amount of derivative works. If you wish to learn more about Touhou, then head here:

Someone do one everyday on 2chan touhou flipside just because I guess. Here's how to look at the archives just for your Marisa folder.
Then click on the white rectangle with hand-written kanji in the middle.

Nier Spoilers Lore Discussion Anonymous 05/01/2017 (Mon) 15:54:32 [Preview] No. 10505 [Reply]
So apparently in Nier Automata Kaine and Nier are long dead due to obvious reasons while Emile went senile protecting the planet from an Alien invasion in the Grimoire Nier. Here's where it gets complicated, in the Grimoire there's an ending F where Kaine rescues Nier, not just that but Kaine is also repaired completely by her Shade when Nier sacrifices himself. So why didn't Nier and Kaine repopulate the world along with Yonah?

Back again with even more musings to the universe's plotholes thanks to Automata and the Grimoire Weiss, as well as in general in-game content. Does fusing while being overseen and preformed by the Grimoires even fuse the Replicant's soul and Gestalt? Or does such a fusion effectively destroy the Replicant's soul in preference to the Gestalt's? This really opens up a mean can of worms, because that means there truly wasn't a good ending for Nier.

Even if the Shadowlord had been patient and waited for the Androids to break the news to Father Nier as well as convince him to fuse via the Grimoire System, it means that the Replicants would have still received the short end of the stick. It's as it has been pointed out many times before, in the Nier universe you can't say that the Gestalts or Replicants are the true villains. You really can't, they FOR THE MOST PART, all have good reasons as to why they're at conflict as well as underlying reasons unknown to both. And yes, this dilemma is a reason unknown to both, you have to remember that during the early days of the Gestalt Project, Replicants had not acquired full sentience yet.

In fact they along with Androids, specifically the predecessors to YorHa were used to wage holy wars against the Red Eye and his Legion.

One last musing for the day, sorry for still being scatterbrained like last time...

Are the baby Gestalts we see and fight genuinely babies? Or are they merely the ancient souls of ancient babies? If they're actual newborns does this mean that Gestalts can reproduce? Man Nier's canon despite being so deep is full of plotholes, thought provoking plotholes due to the ambiguity however.

I've seen a claim on the web that Yoko taro said that replicants are sterile....

Anonymous 05/05/2017 (Fri) 17:28:59 [Preview] No. 10529 del
I've seen that quote from an interview thrown around without a source. But even if it's real it makes me ask the following: Are they born sterile? Are they sterilized? When Kaine got the Replicant factory to repair Nier for her, did he get repaired sterile? For Kaine it's a definite non-issue since she got repaired by her shade.

I've been playing this one game called Meteor Blade. It's this janky old PC game that has somewhat fun combat. has air combos, shield breakers, ground attacks. Maybe it's just mechanically broken but it seems that it's a game with some depth to it that people passed out on. It's also a LAN game so tons of people could play it.

I've also been playing Joan of Arc. It is a dynasty warriors clone so far. but it looks like it's only story mode and you upgrade on the battle feild.

Also I've been trying to git gud at Samsho Vsp. There really are a thousand mechanics in this game and I hope that SNK doesn't dumb it down if they do make a sequel very unlikely though

Anonymous 05/02/2017 (Tue) 21:58:54 [Preview] No. 10519 del
sounds neet.

I think I heard of joan of arc before, I;m not big on those dynasty warrior type games though.

I think I'll play some elona plus tonight and maybe some armored core.

Well, these 2 links weren't intended for this thread but i might as well post em.

The first link is a rar with 23 games, only 132MBs. All of the games are old and some are truly obscure games, some of which i got from the old PCs back in school. 2 of them are in serbian.

The 2nd link is for an old WW2 FPS that i played a lot back when i was a kid but pretty much no one heard about it. Its not the best but its fun and a bit challenging too.

Hope you enjoy.

I painted the model with my mouse only via the 3D Coat program since it let's me hide single mesh pieces I would really love using substance painter instead but that program does not let me hide meshes at all without introducing further complications and Blender scales the brush all the time so when I want a brush scale of 20 in the 3D Viewport it will become something like 15.3713589 instead because the Camera changes the brush scale which I do not like it at all.

I cannot be bothered buying a Tablet just for the sole purpose of painting with it instead of a mouse.

Also is your model just a skeleton rig or it will be actually used like that? Since your skeleton looks detailed.

The model itself is lowpoly and i kinda feel like using it this way (or at least a similar lowpoly design.)

It's not for nothing i do multiple different variations based of the same template. (Like i've previously posted)
The game engine i want to use (Godot Engine) has a nice node-based system which does make sense. Once everyone in blender is done, i import my models, and assemble my character piece by piece, parenting everything correctly. Pic related: My character with his power armor along with a test animation that i have not finished.

This is a very good modeling! Many old computers will happily run a game with these models, and it does look like a tank. I'd say Nice Job!

Alright so a character system where they can wear different types of armor I like it, it sounds like you are aiming for a game with some RPG element to it.

>This is a very good modeling! Many old computers will happily run a game with these models, and it does look like a tank. I'd say Nice Job!
Thanks m8y I appreciate it. I limited myself when modelling a unit for my RTS game to be no higher then about 2k~ vertices count for several reason such as that toaster machines can handle those models as you mentioned it and there is anyway no point making a model with added fine details when most of that is visible only in close view. I might however have to occasionally break the 2k vertices rule but that should happen only for relative big units such as when they are as big as the fatboy tonk from Supreme Commander 1 or anything like that.

A jew owned corporation asks you to develop a reboot of their franchise, handing you total freedom and control over how the game is made.

What Franchise would you reboot?

How would change core gameplay, story, visuals?

I'd reboot the Jak series and scrape everything, we'll call it Jok and Doxter (name not final). Jok is now a 3D metroidvania platformer where Jok now has to explore areas to gain powerups, health upgrades, items, and weapons. This not only encourages more platforming and exploring like in the first Jak but gives players more freedom to play the way they like, while keeping what the later titles brought to the franchise.

The player can explore the open world for guns, gun mods, health upgrades, eco powers, but he doesn't have to get them at all. Much like in Metroid titles you can get power ups to help you with your gameplay or play minimally for a challenge/speedruns. About guns, the aiming system was awful in the Jak2&3, the gun autmatically pointed at the enemy; I'd change it by implementing a third person shooter system whenever a gun is used.

Story wise, remove all that bullshit about timetravel. Their planet is huge and can have all kinds of nations and empires to replace Haven City. So in the original Trilogy you could have easily transitioned time traveling into an advanced city to villagers end up in advanced expanding empire.

Other things

>Sequence Break

>Possibly changing the platforming nature of the game, The end goal is a game with difficult platforming. How I'd do this, I don't now. 3D Platformers are too easy.

I would just go back to what made the first 3 so great. So it would be a combination of the three games. I would keep almost everything the exact same. Only thing I would probably do is speed up the running speed a little bit. Would not add sprint though.

I also would reboot Killzone, the supposed Halo killer.

I'd make it play like a mix between 2 and 3. I would lean mostly towards the grey/dark art direction of the second game although I would have some more diverse visuals to like the snowy environments in Killzone 3. I would include weapons having a secondary fire like in the first game but only for some weapons not all. I never played it but I was told that in Killzone Mercenary you can choose a loadout to use for each level in the campaign. I'd definitely go with that for my reboot of Killzone.

So mostly the above and I'd change probably other things around to here and there. I would also keep the graphics as they are for 2 and 3 while bumping it to higher quality HD and 60fps mandatory. Would also make sure the input delay is a lot better although the fps should pretty much fix that issue.

I honestly like both of these franchises. Just not all of the games in them. They are average-great console FPS games. Halo being great while Killzone ranged from average-good.

Also don't worry I got autism to.

I personally like FitGirl's ones although they can be slow to download.

Try staying away from those that were known to include Bitcoin miners like SEYTER.

Oh I looked into it more, it looks rad, and I am sure I can find 20 bucks. Funny cause I will probably buy it used. and so it benefits my local, cheap yet amazing dvd and video game used shop, from whom I will buy it. God bless such little mom and pop shops right OP? They even have gen 1 nintendo and a huge kung fu section, we need such stores.

It's good but I had to force myself to finish it. I love the mad max universe but it got repetitive as fuck. All in all like it a lot though
