I noticed this too. Links2 can't decode it.
I still use the function "!yt" on searx.me, but now I can't see specific channels...
Guess it's time for a revolution from youtube, no? Why no one yet did a thing like Retroshare+Tor, minus all the shit bloat and integration with mpv and liberapay? Fucks sake, I don't have experience with programming, but I doubt it's a difficult project.

Anonymous 08/31/2017 (Thu) 04:06:43 [Preview] No. 10947 del
There's still mpsyt, but the configuration for it is a mess. I stayed away from it until now.

Damn. I was in the habit of browsing Youtube through Tor with js turned off (of course), because I could still get the links that way, then download the videos through Tor with youtube-dl. Now I can't even browse for links.

>I don't have experience with programming, but I doubt it's a difficult project.

Yeah, people without experience in programming always do. You're what's known as an Idea Guy™. You do the hard part: you know, thinking up the neat idea. Then the programmers do the easy part, writing the silly little code that makes your brilliant idea work.

>You do the hard part:
Yeah, let's reduct the idea to the ridiculous...
I still maintain my position. I don't have experience with programming, it doesn't mean I don't know absolutely nothing.
Clean the shitty code from retroshare (especially removing qt interface) and integrating with Tor is not that complex.

If it's so "not that complex", just go ahead and do it, champ. C'mon, a brilliant Idea Guy™ should be able to complete a simple little coding task which he describes as "not that complex." Actually, Retroshare has had Tor integration for over 2 years now, so that's even less that you have to do. Let us know when you're done. Shouldn't take more than a few hours.

We believe in you, buddy.

Google has always been evil. Some people saw it before others. Speaking of "10 years ago", this was published in 2007: http://craphound.com/scroogled.html

It is about what google and youtube abrogate unto themselves. It is not hard to fluff up stupid fucking programmer class and make them feel special, slary bullshit schema (from kikes) does that. So fuck off. If Google and Youtube burn to the ground before dawn we wouldn't miss a single beat, not one step would we miss. fucking programmer class talking shit, you suck as a people. You are not smart, big overpaid outsourced dummies, actually.

Oh ok, that's why it's unusuable now.

The solution is simple; it's to use cli tools.
The one I use and works very well is mpsyt:
h ttps://github.com/mps-youtube/mps-youtube

I'm gonna use only that from now on.

If you're on emacs, there is an extension called ivy-youtube, and there is helm-youtube too.

PS: The problem I always have trouble with is the api key.
People in little application on github sometimes put their own. I think that you don't have to use any key for youtube-dl, so it's maybe findable in its source code.

It's the same with any cli twitter client; the api key.

What is your solution? Try to steal the api key of someone? Create a fake account from an "unknown" location and use it? If I'm not mistaking, companies love to take a huge load of information from the one using their api...
Thanks.

Doesn't work for me. Automatic redirect to the non-mobile version.

I suppose it might not redirect if I change my User-Agent string, but I'm not going to compromise Tor Browser's anti-fingerprinting measures just to be able to browse youtube.

To be honest, I would really miss the content from Youtube. I mean that 10% which is not a game stream archive, unfunny vlog or top10 clickbait.

>>10965
>What is your solution? Try to steal the api key of someone?
Exactly. Just go through some single-man github project's history and use their keys.

I'll concede I skipped over much of it because I assumed he was retarded. It still holds true you can spoof your resolution without compromising tor features and disabling redirect. A better use of all of our times would be to parse the JS for redirect arguments and work from there.

Nah, it was a less than 50 word post. You didn't skip anything, you're just too stupid to understand what was being said.

So it turns out that you're the retard. Ironic. It's like that movie Inception, but with retardation. Tardception.

Good job, Leotardo DerpCaprio.

Mist be useful to someone. youtube gives a lot of timeouts on searx so I just use this as an alternate search engine in qutebrowser.

God, I hate having to use Jewtube so much. I hate how addicted I am to it. I even deleted my fucking account and I somehow have ~60 subscriptions to keep up with via RSS feeds. Oh well, gotta fill the void somehow.

Exactly. I try to watch good movies when I'm not reading, but youtube non-sense content always comes back.
