March 20th, 1920. The height of the Weimar Republic's hyperinflation. People were starving and living in the streets, with their savings gone as money was useless. Those lucky enough to have a roof over their heads lived in hovels. All kinds of pornography and all forms of prostitution were available, as tourist money was of value. This includes entire families selling their bodies out of their homes.
July 29th, 1920. Adolf Hitler is elected to the leadership of the National Socialist German Worker's Party.
1923 - The worst hyperinflation yet, as jewish banking usury plus mass printing of money by Jakob Goldschmidt and Rudolf Havenstein destroyed Germany's economy. The Rentenmark was issued in October to combat the devaluation of the Papiermark. Gustav Stresemann enacted reforn, the Dawes plan, to pay reparations for WW1. Massive loans were taken with America, as German railways and their banks were mortgaged as collateral. It was due to their dependence on America that resulted in yet another economic failure, the effects of the Wall Street crash on October 24, 1929.
1932. Over 270,000 suicides in Germany, and Berlin is the sin capital of the world.
August 8th, 1923 - Chancellor Dr. Carl Cuno, in order to meet the drop of the mark to 5,500,000 to the dollar, proposes an unlimited gold loan, a gold tax, and a general tax to finance the passive resistance in the Ruhr.
August 14th, 1923 - Chancellor Stresemann outlines his program to the German Reichstag; the end of passive resistance and the enforced taxation of war and postwar profiteers.
September 26th, Beer Hall Putsch in Munich at the Burgerbraukeller. 603 Storm Detachment soldiers stormed the hall, kidnapping state Commissioner Gustav Ritter von Kahr, Bavarian police chief Colonel Hans Ritter von Seisser and Bavarian army officer Otto Hermann von Lossow. Kahr was stubborn and would not cooperate. Hitler did not sway the crowd with threats of violence. Through mere spoken truth, he turned them to his side. Police and armed military forces known as Reichswehr gathered in response. Lieutenant Baron Michael von Godin issued the order to open fire. 16 National Socialists were killed, including flagbearer Heinrich Trambauer, Andreas Bauriedl and Scheubner-Richter, Hitler's diplomatic friend with important connections. This was the man Hitler locked arms with, and fell to the pavement with him. All 603 were armed. It would have been a bloodbath for the opposing side, where it not for the lie they announced, "Hitler is dead."
He was arrested for treason, which brought him front page headlines. The National Socialist headquarters was raided, and their newspaper the Volkischer Beobachter was banned. Bavarian judge George Neithardt convinced pro-National Socialist judges not to acquit Hitler. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment, yet served eight months ajnd was released December 1924 for good behavior. (1)
