Truck Full Of Live Eels Overturns On Oregon Highway Reader 07/14/2017 (Fri) 05:42:39 Id: d1a81a [Preview] No. 1205
>Whilst traveling on the Oregon highway today in Depoe Bay, drivers had a chance to catch a rare glimpse of something quite spectacular. A truck loaded to the top with live eels overturned, turning the coastal road into a slimy mess.

>The Oregon State Police on posted a photo on Twitter that showed damaged cars which were covered by the disgusting looking eels.

>The agency also posted the question, “What to tell the #drycleaner?”

>Meanwhile, the Depoe Bay Fire Department also posted a video of workers using a bulldozer to clear the eels from Highway 101.

>Police said that the driver, Salvatore Tragale, was driving northbound with a total of 13 containers holding 7,500 pounds of hagfish, which is more commonly known as slime eels to the public.

>As Tragale soon approached road construction and tried to stop, one of the containers flew off the truck bed and into the southbound lane, while the other containers spilled into a gooey mess all over the highway, police said.

>The flying container actually hit one vehicle which then caused it and four other vehicles to be pushed into each other in a massive pile-up.

>Police said the people in the vehicle hit by the container suffered minor injuries and were fortunate that the incident didn't cause a fatality. No one else was injured.

>Scientist says that when hagfish become stressed or threatened, they secrete a slime, which can be seen in the photos on the vehicles and on the highway, police said.

>The road reopened after the bulldozer cleared the path and the fire department hosed it off which was completed by mid evening.

That's something I didn't expect to see when I visited.
