Alright, so the end of the month is approaching, has anyone really listened to it yet ? If that's not the case, I think we should move on another record. Keeper of the Seven Keys was proposed, maybe this is a good idea, but we'll make it in another thread.
I didn't give it a serious listen yet, as last week I had some exams (and the two weeks before I was studying :^) ), and I don't think I'll do a track-by-track this time, but I'll give a general feeling for the album.
So, I know Obscura since November, and I really loved Cosmogenesis (perfect/10) and didn't listen to any of their other albums (save for Akróasis, of course).
I think Akróasis is a bit behind Cosmogenesis, but it is surely a grower, as some tracks that I didn't really noticed at first (eg. Ode to the Sun) seem to be really good now.
The use of the fretless bass is something I really like, but it is a little bit under-exploited in the whole album, save for some tracks. The vocoder is hit-or-miss, I think it's well used in this album but a bit too present compared to Cosmogenesis.
Globally, all the instruments are well-played (he, it's tech death..). The drumming and grooves are impressive I think.
The first four tracks are great, Akróasis and Ten Sepiroth surely being highlights from the album.
Ode to the Sun is a grower, a little bit different (less technical ?) from the rest of the album, but I didn't really like it at first. An interesting track so, but I can't tell anything worthy on it.
I haven't got anything to say on the last 4 tracks, except that it is good but it looses the listener a bit. Weltseele, the 15 minutes track is surely great, but I listened to it just once, at 3. AM, and I fell asleep (maybe because of the clean parts).
