Post some interesting bands that are not so well known, but are not complete crap either.

So lately I got into new synthwave. Can't really tell the difference between various artists or anything about them yet, but I find this genre very cosy to listen in general.

Only the proest of pros do. I really like this specific song btw.

I've recently been listening to records on youtube channel called "Funked Up East", especially the electronic ones. Interesting to compare them with those modern retro-styled electronic artists.

For the NEETs from a Hungarian punk band called Aurora, this particaular song was written in 1992:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=v8uAMPwV8HY [Embed]

Lyrics:
"Now we don't have any problems
We are unemployed
Our blissful days
We never work

We don't sweat - No we don't!
We don't suffer
We do all day what we like
Our mood is great
No job to do
We enjoy the life
Nothing else to do"

And the combination of these lines.

The Llibre Vermell de Montserrat (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈʎiβɾə βərˈmɛʎ ðə munsəˈrat], "Red Book of Montserrat") is a manuscript collection of devotional texts containing, amongst others, some late medieval songs. The 14th-century manuscript was compiled in and is still located at the monastery of Montserrat outside Barcelona in Catalonia (Spain).

"Because the pilgrims wish to sing and dance while they keep their watch at night in the church of the Blessed Mary of Montserrat, and also in the light of day; and in the church no songs should be sung unless they are chaste and pious, for that reason these songs that appear here have been written. And these should be used modestly, and take care that no one who keeps watch in prayer and contemplation is disturbed."

Cozy place, but the streets await
Prints left by my boot
Stardust sits...
Right on my boots
A soft seat, a checkered plaid
A trigger not pulled in time
A sunny day
In dreams that blind

My blood type, pinned on my sleeve
And my number and rank, there on the sleeve
Wish me luck in the battles to come
Wish me , now, please
Not to lay there in the grass
Not to lay dead in the grass
Wish me luck in the battle
Wish me luck in... the battle

Yes I could pay, but I do not want
To win at any cost
I do not want
My boots on somebody's throat
I want to stay here with you
Simply stay here with you
But the star up high in the sky
Urges me forth

My blood type, pinned on my sleeve
And my number and rank, there on the sleeve
Wish me luck in the battles to come
Wish me , now, please
Not to lay there in the grass
Not to lay dead in the grass
Wish me luck in the battle
Wish me luck in... the battle

About the lyrics:
From that time period lots of Hungarian pop/rock songs had something to do with the message of the otherwise silent political opposition. How about the Polish bands?

These dudes at the beginning made covers and translations for the songs of popular western performers like Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix or Doors. It was the essence of subversion and anti-regime behaviour.

I don't recall anything tbh. Those mainstream musicians from that time (most of those I posted) probably didn't try anything like that, more underground bands probably yes. Mostly from punk bands I think.

There are plenty metal bands who try to incorporate Gregorian-style chants, although I can't remember good non-extreme examples.

Some obscure group of Poles even made black metal with orthodox chants recently, and became pretty popular (for that type of music): https://youtube.com/watch?v=hPO6w5XgLxs [Embed]
