Seriously hope they don't kill Ashii or Jack.

What if this is Trap Aku trolling Jack again?

>>165 opinion: spoilers if you haven't seen these
When Jack tells Ashi about how the universe/stars were formed, they were foreshadowing the entire show & ending:
On XCIII they also used raw foreshadow&metaphor of the white fox being Jack. Thus it can be implied metaphors and foreshadows are legitimate plot devices.
I had this long theory that Jack by himself cannot kill Aku, since they are the same coin, good and evil. However Ashi is from the Dark Side/moon, she can and has killed, unlike Jack. On episode XCVI we are proven just that. While Jack fends off the children, Ashi overcomes herself, kills her torturer and destroy the lab.
In the parable, Moon invited Sun to space, riding the Phoenix (resurrection/conviction renewed) and inspiring the darkness with stars of the hope/arrows they shot. In the same way I see that Ashi will inspire Jack not to go back to the past and restore order, but carry on the future and inspire the next generation to come.
I was highly inspired by https://8ch.net/co/res/837383.html#840123
or oxwugzccvk3dk6tj.onion/co/res/837383.html#840123
Although Jack dying and Ashi continuing his legacy would be a profound ending as well.

>>166 I do have to correct myself
Jack did kill by accident, and later to defend himself from the sisters, recalling his father's words during just post Sengoku Era (implied since his father was an Emperor, and those were Shinobi attacking him).
Even artistically and canonically, it's implied Jack is Honda Tadakatsu/本多忠勝
But I mean it more symbolically than anything. The wikipedia entries suggest they might either make more than the 9 episodes with another season, or just finalize it with a movie.

Saw leaked clips, and yeah it's shit. Spider-Man never uses his Spider-Sense, swings slow as fuck, barely does any acrobatics. His strength is inconsistent, one moment he inflicts literal ton's worth of damage, the next he's barely at Cap's level of strength. What a fucking load of shit. This is why I hate western crossovers, there's just no fucking respect for power levels.

Instead a character's popularity dictates how strong he is within the storry.

>implying I said cape shit has been good

It used to be good, back in the silver age, even arguably bronze. Past that though it's been garbage after garbage. Since editors, and writers just don't bother to do research on the universe they're writing for. Their just looking for their next pay check, or worse, they're trying to write the most shocking stories ever to expand their shitty careers.

I'd say manga has been superior to comics since the 90s to be honest, in the 80s they were catching up.

Comics will soon go through a crisis that makes the '90s one look like it was nothing in comparison. There is no way this idiotic pandering to women/SJWs will pay off.

If not for superhero films making a killing, DC & Marvel would go bankrupt fast if they keep this up.

How is it that the show from the 90s is less corny and less cringe-inducing than the show produced in the early 2000s?

I was set to rewatch both and only finished the 90s Xmen series. Aside from the dated by 90s production standards and the final season being delayed and gutted for budget, it was a surprisingly joyful series. In a way I think the dated animation style worked because the characters were on model for 99% of the time. But with Evolution, I had to stop at the start of the second season. I wanted to stop even before the end of the first.

The 90s show had typical corny jokes and banter which is a writing hallmark of an 80s/90s show, its roots going back even further. Today that trope is seen as corny and kiddy. Honestly I got used to it so much so that it must have worked in its favor. It came off less like jokes to steal the attention and pad time and more like pure banter. Even if you still consider that cringeworthy, it was nowhere near the "lingo" of Evolution.

Evolution played out so self-aware and concerned with being hip that it embodies the bundle of nerves and identity issues that it focused its writing on - young teenagers. Every step of the way it felt awkward and the focus on teenager issues and immaturity felt completely phony. I guess I expected Xmen but teenagers and not "teenage behavior" with an Xmen overlay the show. The only good thing that Evolution has is that its art holds up. Everything else was awkward.

How could this happen?
