Hilarity would ensue if my parents decided to use Wireshark to monitor my network traffic. First I'd fire up a web crawler and go to town. Chaff is the operative concept here. Unless you're on a 1200 baud dialup connection, you should be able to generate many hours worth of log-reading every minute. Download some word lists from www.randomlists.com or wherever and put them in a batch file with .com, .net, or .org after them and "ping -n 1 www." in front and start cranking out DNS requests for more sites than they could hire people to help them dig through before next winter. Then, once you're choking their logs with a continuous stream of nonsensical garbage, download and install the tor browser bundle and start using it for your regular web surfing. It'll wrap your actual site name lookups and web traffic in an encrypted tunnel that all the wiresharking in the world won't be able to do shit with. Have fun!
